Yes,I think he's sincere too. :)
The man has been hiding from us for years and I don't believe he would use this kind of tagedy for photo ops.
He went there to find his students and do whatever he could do to help.

First of all, there's nothing wrong with people of means ONLY giving money. Imagine if everyone with means went to Haiti...every celebrity...just because you act for a living and/or sing for a living does not elevate you to God status. You're just another human being that makes more money than most so only giving money?

Is a beautiful thing.

I think Vin at his core is a sincere person BUT the way it was done, him posting pictures of him looking like he was on vacation to me looked like this was an opportunity for him to bring awareness to his organization AND to find his students. Helping out wherever he could appeared secondary.

Not for nothing, there were hundreds of thousands of people looking for their children and other family members. Did Vin go down to New Orleans when Katrina hit?

Just trying to get a little perspective. Just because he's a celebrity does not give him the leeway to do and go wherever he wants without being questioned and if he doesn't get that then, I don't know what to say.

I get he leaped into action without thinking because his heart is big and he's superman. I get that. But maybe he should have thought about it before posting pictures with workers and random Haitians.

While he was searching for his students, the world was searching for anyone and everyone under every rock and boulder.

Vin has good intentions, yeah, but I wonder about his motives sometimes.

And let me just say that I think his livestream is amazing. That to me is just more helpful than what I saw from his pictures. There are many ways to help those in need. The way he cares about his students is something to be proud of and this livestream is a testimony of that love.

It's hard to pick and choose who you look for or save first...if it was someone close to me,I'd have to pick them first.I know that's harsh to say,but it's the truth.

A reliable source sent me this to post.

Quote:
I have a friend who is good friends with one of the students that has graduated from Vin's school. He told her that Vin is very genuine and caring, and showed great teaching skills and patience with the students. He has talked since the quake in Haiti, and has actually gone to help Vin while in Haiti. He stated that Vin has a genuine concern for the people of Haiti, and is doing everything he can to help them. He stated that, while Vin knows pictures are part of the job, he is really there to help the people of Haiti.

I walked out of the exit door and kind of ran into Vin. I said "Vin HI!" and asked for a pic but he said, "sure, let me make a quick phone call." then went in his car...no pic. :(
